Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Pharmacist is responsible in giving special patient information regarding the drug dosage, route of administration as part of total care program.
  • Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed.
  • Checks for accuracy of dose prepared.
  • Provides drug control considering proper storage and dispensing, ensures that all states and drug laws are followed.
  • Provides for proper record keeping and billing.
  • Maintains professional competence, especially in drug and procedures of the dispensing area.
  • Ensures that new personnel are trained properly in the policies and procedures of the dispensing area.
  • Keeps the dispensing area neat and orderly.
  • Supervision of drug administration by means of reviewing and understanding each unit dose medication order to ensure that it is entered correctly into the unit-dose system.
  • Ensures that all record for administering Dangerous Drugs is kept correctly.
  • The Pharmacists should act as a liaison between Pharmacist, Nursing and Medical Staff, communicates with the Nurses and Physician regarding medication administration problems.
  • Provides pharmaceutical services at all times to patients, through an adequate supply of safe, effective and good quality drugs in appropriate dosage forms consistent with their needs in collaboration with Medical Staff.
  • Ensures the availability of drugs and medicines for emergency cases and treatment area.
  • Performs monthly inventory and assures that expiry is properly check.
  • Responsible in checking and receiving of deliveries from different suppliers and maintains records of deliveries in Case Chief Pharmacist is out of duty.
  • Enters daily transactions into the computer.
  • Avails continuous educational programs and training.
  • Provides drug information as necessary to Patients, Nursing and Medical Staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with License.
  • Registered Pharmacist
