Daisy Award Winners

We are proud to announce a milestone achievement for two of our nurses at Marikina Valley Medical Center. Aubrey Hyacinth R. Ramirez and Charie Lou Q. Romay are both recipients of the prestigious DAISY Award, an international award given to extraordinary nurses provided by DAISY Foundation and Health Carousel Foundation.

What is DAISY Award for nurses?

The DAISY Foundation, which was created to express gratitude by a family that experienced extraordinary nursing, is the international leader in meaningful recognition of nurses. The Barnes family created the foundation days after their son, Patrick, who was diagnosed with an auto immune disease, died. While Patrick was in the hospital, they experienced the kindness and compassion the nurses showed to Patrick and to his family every day. In Patrick’s memory, they came up with the acronym DAISY, standing for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and decided to give DAISY awards for the extraordinary care nurses give to their patients and families every day, just as they had experienced.

Today there are about 40 countries and 6000++ healthcare organizations and schools of nursing participating in giving awards.

We are the first hospital in Marikina City to have this kind of achievement.
