Chemotherapy and Transfusion Unit




Marikina Valley Medical Center’s Infusion Therapy Unit provides care for individuals requiring chemotherapy and other infusion services. Patients can expect a quiet and warm atmosphere with personal attention from our dedicated and compassionate nursing staff who are trained and certified. They work closely with the physician to provide infusions and therapies specific to each patient’s care plan. Treatment schedules are coordinated by our Oncology nurses.

Services offered:

• Biotherapy (includes conventional chemotherapy)

• Hormonal therapy

• Blood transfusion

• Injection of chemotherapeutic drugs and/or hormones

 

These are blood tests and results are readily available.

• Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) (for liver or testicular cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Cancer Antigen (CA-19-9) (for pancreas, colon, gallbladder, or stomach cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) (for colon, lungs, thyroid, or ovarian cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA) (for prostate cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) (for testicular cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Cancer Antigen (CA125/15-3) (for breast cancer) - results within 24 hours
• Peripheral Blood Smear (for leukemia) - results within 2 to 3 days

Our doctors at the Medical Arts Building are ready to answer whatever questions you may have about your symptoms or these tests.

Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
