On May 11, 2018 Wednesday commenced the very first Data Privacy Awareness seminar held at the Big Conference Room, 7th Floor of Marikina Valley Medical Center (Main Building). It was conducted in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012: RA 10173, It’s Implementing Rules & Regulations and Circulars issued and setforth by it’s Regulating Body which is the National Privacy Commission. The seminar aims to spread awareness with regards to Data Privacy and Protection. This is an empowerment seminar that educates Data Controllers and Processors interms of handling personal, sensitive personal information. It entails an outlined path on how an Institution should process such information. The Seminar also tackled the rights of Data Subjects in conjunction with existing Laws and such. Definitely this won’t be the last but just the beginning in achieving full Data Privacy Act compliance.
